Interview - Fashion Wear - Evening Gown - On Stage Question
Interview- This category accounts for 40% of each delegate's total score.
The seven minute panel style interview is private with one delegate at a time with the distinguished panel of five judges. The most important element a titleholder must possess is the ability to communicate clearly and with passion to her audience. As an ambassador for the American Dream Pageant system, she must be articulate, intelligent, confident and graceful. She may speak of her work or school experiences, hobbies, goals, dreams, or anything she wishes. Before each delegate begins the interview, she will deliver a 30 second introduction stating her name, local title, platform, and any information she wishes to share.
Attire for this segment of competition is a business suit or appropriate dress. You’re interviewing for the “job” of a Hawaii American Dream titleholder; winners will be representatives and spokespersons for the American Dream Pageant system.
Fashion Wear–
This category accounts for 25% of each delegate's total score.
Scoring emphasis is placed on presentation, poise, elegance and overall appearance.
You should choose an outfit that would be represented on a runway in a couture fashion show. Your outfit may be dressy or casual, but please no denim.
Evening Gown -
This category accounts for 25% of each delegate's total score.
Attire is floor-length, age appropriate gown of your choosing, which should
compliment the delegate's style, figure, and be well fitted. This is the most
elegant and glamorous portion of the competition. The value of the gown is
not important; scoring emphasis is placed on the grace, elegance and
overall look of the delegate in the attire she chooses.
On Stage Question -
This category accounts for 10% of your score. Each delegate will have one
final opportunity to display their communication talents in this portion of
competition, which takes place in evening wear, immediately following evening
gown competition. She will be asked a general question and expected to give a
30 second or less response. Scoring emphasis is placed on each delegate's
ability to communicate in a live setting in front of an audience, her
confidence, speaking ability, and how she handles herself under pressure.
